Pilot Study of the Biological Markers of Grief

In collaboration with Dr. Mary-Frances O’Connor at UCLA, we are conducting a pilot study to see if levels of natural chemicals in the blood differ between people suffering from complicated grief and bereaved individuals not suffering from CG. We are also interested in finding out if treatment for complicated grief changes the level of chemicals in the blood associated with the body’s stress response system. This research will provide insight into how complicated grief affects the body.

Individuals enrolled in the Complicated Grief Treatment in Older Adults study are eligible to participate in this project.
